Pachamama Bar & Kitchen, Marylebone
Thrilling, sexy, mind blowing. Words that might be uttered, not about your date, but about the incredible experience at Pachamama.
Part restaurant, part cocktail bar, Pachamama is situated in one of London’s most desirable neighbourhoods, a quick skip away from the bright lights and bustle of the West End and a stone’s throw from A-list magnet Chiltern Firehouse, Home House members club and the recently opened Social Wine & Tapas.
Pachamama is itself a star turn, winning all manner of awards and accolades since it opened late last year. We’re pleased to report that it also scores top of the class as far as dating venues go.
Where to start? The menu reads like a total dream, filled with a wide range of sharing-friendly plates from ‘Sea’, ‘Land’ and ‘Soil’. Select a handful and leave your waiter to suggest a few more. They’ll be delivered to you rapid-fire without interrupting the flow of conversation. The food itself however will leave you speechless – each dish packed with punchy, unique and exotic flavours yet still safe enough for someone who prefers steak and chips (if this happens, order the Beef short-rib and sweet potato fries).
Taking the experience to another level are the service staff – the right amount of flirty, chatty and charming – even if your date is a dud, you’re bound to have a riot of a time regardless.
The bar isn’t to be missed, arrive early – even if you’re only there to grab a glass of champagne on arrival. You’ll give yourself the time and space to gaze across the restaurant, either watching the all-star bar team in action or observe the well turned out men and gorgeous women of West London enjoying their meals.
You’re in Marylebone, so dress to match the postcode. If, at the end of all of your meal, you don’t feel the yearning to stay for a final drink and you’re feeling glamorous then Chiltern is (very) close…
Handsome staff, elegant dishes and a belting cocktail list – it’s difficult to see where Pachamama can go wrong.
If there were to be a word of caution, it would be to keep an eye on the drinks – particularly the wines as they can very quickly start adding extra zeros to your bill.
